Unpaste Tooth Tabs - Zero Waste Toothpaste - With OR Without Fluoride, Vegan, Compostable

The ZWS ships items without the use of plastic packaging, opting instead for a simple cardboard box and paper-based packaging tape which is a relief and true to the spirit of the "zero waste" mission.
I ordered the fluoride-containing toothpaste tablets because as a public health professional, I really appreciate what fluoride has done for dental health on a population-scale and I would like to reap those benefits personally. This is a frequent issue I've had when searching for plastic-free toothpaste alternative: most are fluoride free. I LIKE fluoride, I am quite comfortable with the safety evidence to use it as toothpaste, I just want to reduce my plastic waste. I was so relieved to find a fluoride-containing plastic-free toothpaste option. I really hope it is continued to be carried by the brand. Now to find a plastic-free antiperspirant that contains aluminum salts...
This was my first experience with a solid toothpaste, and the learning curve was pretty minimal. The "dosing" is just right- I felt the proportion of toothpaste in a single tab was a great amount to brush with. It was not overwhelming and it felt like enough to get clean. I do appreciate the foam though I know it is not necessary: it helps the experience feel familiar to what I already know, which makes the transition from a paste to a tablet easier.
Something I found disconcerting about using this toothpaste: it leaves a "sweet" aftertaste. Looking through the ingredients, I see they include both stevia and vanilla which I assume it the cause. While stevia doesn't seem to promote cavity-causing bacteria like sugar does, it still is unnerving, as the taste of "sweet" makes me feel like my teeth aren't clean. I finish brushing my teeth and am left feeling/thinking I need to brush because there is a sugary taste in my mouth. I don't want to rinse as leaving the fluoride on my teeth helps it be more effective. This is a downside to using this toothpaste.
Overall, a serviceable product. I am VERY grateful to have a plastic-free toothpaste option that retains fluoride as an active ingredient. Until I find another plastic-free fluoride brand that is less sweet, I will stick with this product.

I got these for some trips I was taking and they were so convenient for TSA regulations. I liked them so much I switched to these tabs even when I'm at home. Feels like regular toothpaste.

I recently switched to toothpaste tabs and tried a few different brands. Unpaste with Fluoride is my favorite so far. It only takes a couple bites before it has dissolved into a smooth and foamy paste and doesn't leave any bits stuck in my teeth like some others I have tried. This is also my favorite mint taste of the tabs I've tried, and I love the compostable bag. I will definitely be refilling on these!

I prefer to use Unpaste Flouride toothpaste. It has become increasingly difficult to find and the price has increased. I was glad to find it on ZeroWasteStore where I have found other items that I prefer to use.

This is honestly the best toothpaste I have ever used. My mouth always feels super clean. Love that it’s cruelty free and the packaging is compostable!

Foams and tastes like normal toothpaste

These ones are fine. They have a good foam and texture but they had a slightly strange taste so if you prefer something minty or are sensitive to tastes, pick one of the other ones

thick and foamy! Better than expected. 100% recommend.

My daughter gave me some of ZWS tooth-tabs. It felt odd at first to use them. I chew it lightly so I can smear it around on my teeth. Then I distribute it a bit more with the brush head (SURI). Then I turn on the brush and enjoy! They are great where I have tea stain.
I use the fluoride. Great dental check-ups!

I have tried these and I have tried Zebra brand toothpaste tablets. The unpaste tablets work great, but they start out super dry which the Zebra ones don't. I like them both and I would probably get these again because I can deal with that for the price!

I tried these after previously getting the Huppy ones. I like that they have fluoride but prefer the taste of the Huppies.

They taste minty fresh, foam up well and seem to get my teeth clean. Love that they're so low-waste and travel-friendly too.

Love that unpaste has a fluoride version. Tooth tabs are just so convenient, it amazes me most people haven't made the switch! Easy to travel with and has a reasonable taste. It helpful that it's already pre portioned too, no over using toothpaste

Different texture than the Huppi toothpaste tabs, but I like it a lot! I also love the eco-friendly packaging and the flavor.

My dentist is happy with my teeth, and I like the taste and effectiveness of Unpaste. Nice foaming action too! And I feel much better using these tabs since the packaging is compostable.

I love that the bag is compostable, but if you’ve got a very humid bathroom like I do, consider putting them in a glass jar, or the tabs can swell through the bag.

So glad they offer these with fluoride. I think they're the only toothpaste tablets I could find that have it! They are small and don't foam though, so sometimes I use two.

I’ve never tried tablets before. My top reason for trying is because I am on a mission to reduce plastic use in my house everywhere I can. Huge plus that the packaging is compostable. I also love that there is no mess! Just pop a tablet in your mouth & chew & you’re ready to go!

I’ve been using these tabs for several years and love the product. However, I recently re-ordered and was surprised with the changes. Tabs are suddenly very foamy (not the case prior) and the mint flavor has changed (not for the better). What was previously in a paper pouch is now in something that feels plastic (although I understand it is compostable). The packaging, because of the zip seal, is now larger - hence more potential waste. Not great upgrades.

I usually shop for low foaming/no SLS toothpastes because the foam makes me gag. I guess I didn’t research these tabs well enough because they are significantly more foamy than a normal toothpaste, which renders them unusable for me. They are convenient to carry, minty, do a good job as toothpaste, and if a foamy toothpaste makes your mouth feel clean then this is the product for you! It is unfortunately not the product for me, but I’ll pass it along to someone to someone that will enjoy it more.
