About This Item:
This responsibly sourced silk sea sponge from the Philippines is ideal for gentle face exfoliation and provides mineral benefits. Simply use the wet sponge on soapy skin to gently buff away dead skin cells and dirt. The minerals contained in sea sponges nourish and benefit the skin, including calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, zinc, and potassium. Just rinse and hydrate, and remember that sea sponges are a renewable resource. When sponges are harvested, they are hand cut by divers to leave at least one inch of the base intact. The sponge then regenerates within 3-5 years, and studies have shown that the harvested areas actually see an increase in sponge population. We are proud to partner with a family-owned and operated company.
