I love the way this

I love the way this cleans my teeth. I usually brush my teeth normally and will use the charcoal powder once I am done. I think it is a bit challenging to get it on the bristles, but I am very cautious and it really is no big deal. In hindsight it is more sanitary to tap the bottle to get some of the powder on the toothbrush than to go dipping it into a container.

Needs a steady hand

I love the idea of this product, and it does leave your teeth with a ‘just left the dentist' feeling if you're using a mechanical toothbrush, however, it comes in a small-necked bottle so it's hard to access the product without a whole pile of the grains escaping. I ended up tipping a small amount in the palm of my hand and then dipping a wet toothbrush onto it - and each time I pray a bunch won't dump out as I do it 🙄

Messy but does the job

I bought this on a whim at the start of switching to zero-waste alternatives. I was excited that the powder came in a glass bottle, so there would be no waste afterwards from a plastic package. Unfortunately, the powder is a mess not just to get onto my brush, but my sink has gotten clogged over and over again because of the ingredients. Not sure if this is just my sink, but I'd love a better toothpaste alternative that comes in glass or minimal plastic packaging that also works!!

Hi Caroline! Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We're so sorry this tooth polish isn't working out as well as you had hoped! For a similar charcoal-infused clean, we love the Charcoal Peppermint David's toothpaste! An easy-to-use (and squeeze onto the brush) aluminum tube that's fully recyclable at the end of its life :D

Hard To Use

This product is effective, but the packaging does not aid in getting the power onto the brush. I find there is a lot of extra power falling off the brush in the process. It would be great not to have so much waste.

Very good

Switching to a more sustainable toothpaste is not the easiest compared to the other sustainable swaps I've made. I've tried the tooth tabs and tooth jelly's before landing on the David's toothpaste. Which is still not the most sustainable but a happy middle ground. But even with David's tooth paste I still didn't feel that crisp clean feeling that “regular” toothpaste left my mouth. I just got this tooth polish on a whim, but I'm sure glad I did I just sprinkle some onto my toothpaste (use them together). And it just give me that extra freshness I was missing. Um it'll leave you hand towels grayish, but I have had no problems with staining, it washes right out (and mine are white). Will definitely be repurchasing.
