Sustainability:
This closed-loop collection program keeps used batteries out of ordinary waste streams and directs them to specialized processing. Returned batteries are inspected, sorted, sized, and processed to recover materials such as nickel, iron, chromium, manganese, and zinc oxide for further use.
Product Care:
Store the container upright indoors in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, and children. Keep the lid closed between deposits and protect the liner, return label, and instructions from damage. Do not alter the UN-certified container or exceed the 55-pound weight limit. Follow TerraCycle’s instructions before handling or adding leaking, swollen, damaged, recalled, or otherwise unsafe batteries.
End of Life:
Do not empty the collected batteries into local trash or curbside recycling. Seal and return the filled container according to the supplied instructions. At the processing facility, conforming batteries are inspected, sorted, sized, and processed to recover metals and metal oxides. Non-conforming batteries may be returned to the generator.
