Using the dermaplaner:
Prep: Cleanse your face completely
Step 1: Use on either dry skin, or apply a small amount of shave oil. If you’re unsure about which method works best for your skin, ask your dermatologist.
Step 2: Hold your skin taut. Place the blade at a 45-degree angle against your skin.
Step 3: Use light pressure, and move in short downward strokes towards the center of your face. As needed, rinse or wipe the blade. Take your time, and get comfortable with the technique.
Finish: Rinse your skin and finish with Shave Oil to moisturize your skin.
Includes: Dermaplaner tool; 2 dermaplaner refills (blade & blade-guards); Precision clip. Available in Silver, Black, or Prism.
Use: Use each refill up to 3 times, or swap as needed. *Due to the guarded blades and steeper blade-angle, the Dermaplaner is not a fit for typical face shaving on beards.
Care: Refresh your razor and blade after each use. Swap out the blade and blade-guard monthly. Give them a wipe down with some alcohol for added cleanliness!Collect your blades in our blade recycling tin and once it is full, send it back to Leaf for proper recycling.

Flimsy, foil-like blades - not metal like razor blades. Not something I want to use on my skin.
Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase. The ZWS ships items without the use of plastic packaging, opting instead for a simple cardboard box and paper-based packaging tape which is a relief and true to the spirit of the "zero waste" mission.
This dermaplaner is sturdy and has a nice weight in the hand. It feels solid in its construction and high-quality. The hinging part that opens for you to replace the blade is smooth and not too loose, so it won't flop open at an inopportune time. This may loosen over time, however, I have only had the product a month so far. This opening also allows for simple and thorough cleaning, and I have cleaned the entire dermaplaner with rubbing alcohol with no ill effects.
It is easy to use, but I have some minor gripes: it is a little difficult to change out the blade and blade guard. The way the blade and blade guard slot in is very secure, but a requires some force to remove which makes me a little nervous given how sharp the razor blade is. I have avoided any cuts so far, though!
Another minor gripe: it recommends switching the blade every 3 uses, which I used to plan how many replacement blades to order. However, I have PCOS which causes pretty heavy, coarse facial hair for me, and I found the blade was dulled during my second use. Keep in mind depending on the amount and coarseness of the hair you will be shaving when considering how many blades you'll go through. If the dermaplaner is not gliding and shaving with ease and little force, stop and replace the blade! A dull blade is more dangerous than a sharp one.
Again, quite satisfied with my purchase, seems to be a quality product, and very straightforward to use.
This product is amazing and works so effectively will no longer have to ever repurchase plastic disposable razors and can use this for a lifetime! Hope they restock soon so I can get one for my mom!
I love this so much I just started using it and it works amazing I have been using plastic disposable dermaplaners for years and this face razor works much more efficiently than any other cheap plastic razor can safely say I will be using this product for a lifetime and will no longer have to throw away any more plastic razors
