Do Not Absorb

Even after multiple washings, these do not absorb liquids. They push the water around and if I am using them to clean, I have to wipe everything dry with a terry towel. Quite expensive for something that really doesn't work. I would not recommend.

Not Very Absorbent

Reading other reviews before buying, I was a little skeptical of these cloths but wanted to try them out anyway as a paper towel alternative. Unfortunately I had a similar experience where the towels did not absorb much liquid and instead just pushed it around. Even after trying the dampen them first, as Zero Waste Store recommended, it didn't feel like much cleaning up was happening and I was somehow just ending up with sopping towels and still a mess on the counter. For now they just sit rolled up on my counter behind my regular roll of paper towels.

ZERO absorbancy

Given the many great ratings this product has received, I was extremely disappointed and surprised to find that these do almost nothing to absorb liquid. Especially prior to washing them the first time. In fact just to do a test, I placed a tablespoon or so of water on one of these towels right out of the package and the water just sat on top of the towel for about 20 minutes before it started to sink in. To top it off, the towels shrunk in the clothes dryer so now they are only about the size of a napkin, which is what I use them for currently, only because I am the worst at making returns. Also I would add that I NEVER give negative reviews, but I figure by doing so this time around, I may help at least one person not waste their money. A good idea in theory and nice colors but in the future I'll be seeking out eco-friendly material that is not flannel.

Hi Samantha,

Switching from disposable paper towels, it will definitely take some adjustment, as they are simply not the same. Reusables are never going to absorb the same amount of liquid as a disposable because of the fabric, but if you follow our 'towel tips' it helps a lot :) They will also become more absorbent after each wash. We hope this helps!
