Description

Bamboo charcoal helps naturally remove impurities and improve taste to your tap water! Say goodbye to plastic water bottles and filters and switch to this eco-friendly alternative. Skinny-sized pieces are perfect for small mouth containers while the regular pieces fit into wide mouth bottles or carafes. Toss your used charcoal into the compost, garden and potted plants to reduce trash and add vital nutrients to the soil.

How to Use: Rinse when you first receive them, boil for 5 minutes, and dry in sun. Add 3 pieces to one liter of tap water. Let sit for 1 hour and enjoy! Refill for 4 weeks.

How it Works: Bamboo charcoal's porous surface area absorbs tap water and airborne impurities. If carbonized at high heat, tests indicate that bamboo charcoal removes chlorine, chloride, phosphorus, ammonia, toluene (alcohol), nitrogen, chloramine, and even toxins like pesticides that can seep into tap water. Bamboo charcoal adsorbs solids and gases, but not pathogens, so we don't recommend relying on bamboo charcoal to filter creek water while hiking.

Each pack of comes with 100g of bamboo charcoal. All bamboo pieces are cut by hand, so sizes may vary.

Nice alternative

I have heard people say how do you know the charcoal is actually filtering your water? I mean, how do YOU know that your Brita is filtering your water?
I am yet to get sick from drinking my water. I do like this idea. Someone mentioned that water taste different I do not taste any difference, but I am not a water connoisseur. It last for a while, I do not need to deal with bulky filters. I like it.

Impressed with the amount you get

This place is expensive for a post grad (AKA me) so when I ordered this, I expected to only get only a one time supply of charcoals. In fact, no, this not the case! I received about a year and half, maybe even two year supply of charcoals. #veryimpressed. It's a tedious process to remember to put your charcoal into your water the day before, but quite frankly, it's so much easier than taking birthing control or something more pressing lol. I don't think is as prifying as say the holy grail Berkey, but I choose my charcoals over any common water filter any day of the week. My favorite part (other than zero waste) is that there is NO PLASTIC in shipping or using the product itself. Stay refreshed and low waste, babes
